Meal Plans

Working full time and taking care of Violet is more than enough to fill my schedule all day, everyday. That’s why planning is everything when it comes to staying on track for us. When I don’t take the 30-40 minutes before going to the store, it throws my whole week off. I like to sit down with a few of my fave cookbooks, my lap top, and my food journal and come up with the weekly menu before even leaving the house. I don’t always stay 100% to it, but I use it as my guideline to stay organized and efficient in the kitchen.

Take the time to start a journal. I like to write the date of the week up top and then separate the page into categories: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks. I usually have a few ideas of what I want to make when I start so I fill those in first. Then I’ll talk to Marc about what sounds good and flip through my books and Pinterest to find a new recipe. The journal is a also a great resource because I often forget about meals I’ve made in the past and can flip back a month or two and remember a meal I loved!

Once you fill out your menu, simply put your list of needed ingredients together to make it happen and you’re off to the store. There’s a lot of cooking from scratch involved with Paleo which can certainly be time consuming, but by staying organized, you can free up so much time every week by avoiding last minute grocery trips to pick up one or two items and coming home every day with the plan already made.
